In some very very hot conditions the MVXCERS had some outstanding performances..The freshman girls team took first place overall! Freshman boys finished 3rd and the JV girls finished 3rd...without the services of the 9th graders! JV boys battled and battled finishing in 7th place overall. These were all super performances against some great competition with very large fields and of course some scintillating heat. Great job to all racers at Bob Firman!
Sam Johnston, Mariah Simpson, and Holly Ellingson had fantastic races....on the boys side..Jarren Walker-Colton Ray-and Tim Ankeman had great races.....and really moved up from previous races.
Nike Pre-Nationals: 9-23-11
A hot day for Portland turned out to be a great day for Mountain View!
In the JV races Emily Blake and Devon Selleck both turned in great races and came close to setting pr's..Emily finishing in 4th and Devon finishing in 12th.
The girls race was a turning point for MVXC...the girls took the 14th team in the USA to the wire....finishing in a dead heat...103-103 with Redondo getting the win on there 6th runner. All the girls contributed to the success of the team and it was super fun to be a part of such a great day..
The boys finished 9th out of 29 and although no one ran their best ...everyone ran solid and help contribute to a 35 second gap which was a huge improvement from previous races. District s and State should provide for some great excitement as there are a number of teams that could do some serious damage at State.
